British businessman Shrien Dewani's honeymoon murder case may be dismissed due to holes in prosecution evidence and questions about the reliability of three key witnesses, according to South African experts.
According to the Daily Express, trials can be dismissed under South African law if the judge believes there is not enough evidence for a "reasonable person" to convict the accused.
Dewani is accused of masterminding the murder conspiracy against his wife Anni who was severely beaten and shot dead on November 13, 2010.
William Booth, a chair of the South African Law Society's criminal law procedure committee said that it would not be easy to secure a conviction for prosecutors based on the evidence so far.
The case can be dismissed by the end of this week when the prosecution is expected to have given all its evidence.
