Congress leader Manish Tewari on Wednesday said the Director General bi-annual meeting between India and Pakistan must be called off immediately and accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of going back on his words on countering the hostile neighbour on terrorism.
"This DG-BSF talks must be called off immediately. India must take a firm stand that till the time terror from Pakistan does not abate, there should be no question of talking to Pakistan at any level," Tewari told ANI.
The Congress leader further said that Prime Minister Modi must give an explanation to the people of the nation as to why India is talking to Pakistan even after continuous threats from Pakistan.
"If they had come to par on this premise that there will be no talks till terror updates, then why have they done a 180 degree somersault on their position? Are they under any international pressure? Is it that some country daring down hard on them that they must talk to Pakistan under all circumstances?"asked Tewari.
The Director General level bi-annual meeting between India and Pakistan border guarding forces will take place here on Wednesday.
