The death toll in the Dharwad building collapse rose to eleven on Thursday with four more bodies being found from the site, the district information officer said.

On Wednesday, the Indian Air Force airlifted two teams of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) to Karnataka's Hubli from Hindon in Uttar Pradesh to join the rescue and search operation after an under-construction building collapsed in Dharwad on Tuesday.

The operation is being conducted jointly by NDRF and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF).

The information officer said, "The number of people killed in the building collapse in Dharwad has gone up to eleven after four more bodies were found from the debris today."

More than 60 people have been rescued as the rescue operation continued for the third day.

Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy has said that the rescue efforts will be conducted on a war footing and urged locals not to panic.
