Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni's team fought it in a thrilling final against England and brought home the Champions Trophy on Sunday.
Dhoni is all praise for the mental resilience of his side as England were 110 for four in what proved to be their fifth defeat after India scored 129 for seven in a match reduced by rain from 50 to 20 overs per side, Fox News reports.
Dhoni said that he told his team to be positive and look at a good start and not the result, adding that God will not come to save them and they have to just fight it out in the ground.
According to the report, Dhoni further said that India is a number one ranked team and they should play like that.
In what is said to be the last Champions Trophy before its replacement by a World Test Championship, India won all five of their matches after a pair of warm-up victories.
Virat Kohli who scored a rapid 43 said that the warm-up matches are equally important to the team because if they lose even one then people start saying that the team can' play overseas.

The dejected England captain Alastair Cook said that it was his 'worst day' on England duty adding that the team's loss is a bitter pill to swallow as they had higher expectations of achieving something special.
Cook was critical of the Australian television umpire Bruce Oxenford for giving out Ian Bell stumped by left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja, the man-of-the-match for his 33 not out and two for 24.
Cook further said that he thought of Oxenford's decision as poor and he only saw the replay a couple of times and maybe Oxenford saw a different angle.
The report added Cook saying that the umpire is paid to make those decisions and if he has made the decision it is his game.
