The White House has recently claimed that Barack Obama picked up the tab for a private weekend party that featured Prince.
Press Secretary Josh Earnest was surrounded by question after word of the event, which also included live music by Stevie Wonder, surfaced on social media as unlike previous private White House events this one had not been listed on the president's schedule, reported Fox News.
Confirming the occurrence of the event, Earnest said that the Obamas paid for the event but the event was of private nature so he didn't have a lot to details to discuss.
Earnest added that the fact that they were talking about a private event was an indication that the president is committed to being transparent.
Russell Wilson, Jon Bon Jovi, Angela Bassett, Gayle King, Robert Wolf, National Security Adviser Susan Rice and Education Secretary Arne Duncan were few prominent names present at the party.
