Targetting Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari for driving a scooty without a helmet to Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat's residence in Nagpur, Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh asked why the former was breaking the law, instead of enforcing it.
"Gadkari violates the law, which he should be enforcing, by riding a scooter without a helmet. Is this the example he and NDA Government wants to set?" Singh said on Twitter.
"Would the Police Commissioner of Nagpur register a case against him or wait for a PIL to be filed against Gadkari?" he added.
Amid the ongoing suspense over who would formally take charge as the Maharashtra Chief Minister, Gadkari had met the RSS chief in Nagpur.
Gadkari had earlier this week ruled himself out of the race and reiterated that he was not in the race for the top post.
The BJP's Maharashtra unit president Devendra Fadanvis continues to be a frontrunner for the Chief Minister's post.
