D.S Rawat, the chief election officer, on Saturday said the direct involvement of political parties in the

Delhi University Students Union (DUSU) elections was unfortunate.

"The unfortunate part of this election was the direct involvement of political parties, it is wrong. May be because of that voting percentage did not increase. The university must come with other methods," Rawat told ANI here.

"We need to come up with better options as changing the pattern might bring some difference in the voting percentage. So, the students union should think of new ways," he added.

In a major setback for Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) swept the Delhi University Students' Union (DUSU) polls by winning all the four seats.

ABVP's Satinder Awana, an MA Buddhist Studies student, won the election for the president post. Sunny Dedha, pursuing Law, won the vice-president's post. Anjali Rana has been elected as the secretary and Chattar Pal Yadav elected as the joint-secretary respectively.
