South Africa T20 skipper Faf du Plessis has said that he has never seen such crowd reaction in India that spoiled their second T20 international in Cuttack, hoping that such a thing would never happen again.
Fans vented their anger and went on to hurl plastic bottles onto the ground after India were bundled out for their second lowest T20 score of 92 at the Barabati Stadium.
South Africa eventually secured a six-wicket win over the hosts to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series. They won the first match on Friday at Dharamshala by seven wickets.
Reflecting on the incident, Du Plessis said that the game had lost its intensity towards the end, adding that he felt sad to see that, Sport24 reported.
The 31-year-old further said that such kind of incidents also affect the image of the cricket, adding that one never want that to be a part of the game.
The third and final match will be played at Kolkata's iconic Eden Gardens on Thursday. Both sides will then lock horns in five ODIs and the following four-match Test series.
