Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj on Saturday said the most disappointing aspect of the UPA-2 regime (2009-14) were the repeated disruptions created by Congress Members of Parliament, and added that she came away from the final session of the 15th Lok Sabha with a feeling that institutions have been eroded with time.

"The most disappointing thing in this session of the UPA was that the Congress MPs themselves created disruptions in the Parliament. Three sessions on Telangana were wasted due to these disruptions. This time, it felt like institutions were eroded," said Swaraj.

Although, we are happy that some bills could be passed, and some debates were conducted on the Lokpal and Telangana Bill, it is sad that hardly any work was done in this session," she said.

She further called on the Congress Party-led central government to respect institutions like the CVC and the CAG, as these were of utmost importance in a democracy.

"The government says that the CVC and CAG are hindering development. These institutions are there to keep a watch, and, they are just doing their jobs," said Swaraj.

"The CVC and CAG are there for checks and balances. They are of utmost importance in a democracy," she added.
