Following the recent Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 disaster, only four relatives of the Boeing 777 crash victims have requested to visit the crash site in Eastern Ukraine.

According to News.com.au, Malaysia Airlines initially anticipated a large takeup and offered to put on a charter flight to take distraught family members to Kiev and then by vehicle to the disaster zone nine hours away.

The consular officials in Australia had also reportedly made arrangements for the families of Australian passengers onboard the ill-fated flight to travel to Ukraine.

However, the ghastly scenes of the disaster site shown on television seem to have deterred most of the families of MH17 crash victims from traveling to the conflict prone country.

The report quoted officials as saying that family members were also deeply distressed at the treatment of the body remains and the looting of personal effects from luggage.
