A man distressed about his son's medical condition, who was in a standoff with police at a hospital in Texas, has reportedly prompted the police to deploy its High Risk Operation Unit.
The Harris County Sheriff's Office said that it's unclear if the man at the Tomball Regional Medical Center was armed, reported The Daily Express.
The sheriff's office first described the incident as a hostage situation but later on clarified that was not the case.
Tomball police said that the floor at the hospital where the incident took place had been evacuated but had not been shutdown or put on lockdown. The man has not made any demands and negotiations with the suspect were going on, they added.
