World number one Novak Djokovic reached his 26th consecutive grand slam quarter-final after battling past Roberto Bautista Agut in a four-set thriller at the US Open.
Djokovic overcame his Spanish opponent Bautista Agut 6-3, 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 in a contest that lasted three hours and three minutes.
The Serbian produced a perfect blend of accuracy and power to win the opening set before the Spaniard wrestled his way back into the game to level the match in the second set.
However, Djokovic raised his performance in the next two sets to claim victory.
Reflecting on his match, Djokovic said that it was a great match, adding that Bautista Agut made him work for every point, the Guardian reported.
Djokovic will next meet Spain's Feliciano Lopez, who claimed a 6-3, 7-6 (7-5) 6-1 win over Italy's Fabio Fognini, in the quarter-finals.
