Following victory over World No. 1 Rafael Nadal in Sunday's Rome Masters final, Serbian tennis ace Novak Djokovic inched closer to the top spot in the latest ATP rankings, as he moved just 650 points short the Spaniard.
Other tennis ace's that complete the top five are Australian Open champion Stanislas Wawrinka, his Swiss compatriot Roger Federer and Spanish clay court specialist David Ferrer, Sport24 reported.
Meanwhile, Canada's Milos Raoni, who pushed Djokovic to three sets in the semi-finals, is the only player to move amongst the top ten after he replaced Kei Nishikori at number nine as the Japanese slipped to tenth, the report added.
The top 10 players in the ATP rankings are:
1. Rafael Nadal: 12,500 pts
2. Novak Djokovic: 11,850 pts
3. Stanislas Wawrinka: 5,830 pts
4. Roger Federer: 5,125 pts
5. David Ferrer: 5,030 pts
6. Tomas Berdych: 4,330 pts
7. Juan-Martin Del Potro: 4,125 pts
8. Andy Murray: 4,120 pts
9. Milos Raonic: 2,975 pts
