World number one Novak Djokovic clinched his fifth Miami Open title after trouncing third-seed Andy Murray in a gruelling three-set contest on Sunday.
The Serbian overcame Murray 7-6 (7-3), 4-6, 6-0 to extend his winning streak against the Britain number one to seven matches.
Murray fought back stoutly to win the second set in order to force a deciding third set, but ultimately came up short once again.
Reflecting on his performance, Murray said that it has been a good start to the year for him so far, adding that he was not quite there where Djokovic was at, insisting that he just need to keep working hard, the BBC reported.
With the win, Djokovic bettered his record against Murray to 18-8 whereas Murray will climb from fourth to third in the rankings.
