Long-standing 'Big Four' member Novak Djokovic has revealed that the elite class is now the 'Big Five' as Australian Open champion Stanislas Wawrinka is now the real deal at grand slams.
Wawrinka's name has been added to the grand slam winners' list that has been dominated by Rafael Nadal, Djokovic, Roger Federer and Andy Murray after the Swiss defeated the current World No. 1 in Melbourne.
According to Sport24, Djokovic has said that Wawrinka deserves to be considered as one of the favourites to win the French Open, which starts on Sunday, because of the fact that he had one of the best results of all the players this year.
Djokovic said that Wawrinka won his first grand slam; he won the Monte Carlo tournament in great fashion winning against some top players and has proved to everybody that he is one of the contenders for grand slam titles.
The World No. 2 said that Wawrinka has now got stronger mentally and more experienced in the big matches, adding that one can see the reflection in the results he has.
