The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday condemned the Karnataka Government for behaving like a silent spectator in the mysterious death of IAS officer DK Ravi.

"Even after an IAS officer losing his life, the government is behaving like a silent spectator. DK Ravi's family should get justice and the country wants D K Ravi to get justice," said BJP spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain.

Hussain added that the Karnataka Government should not be an obstacle in getting D K Ravi justice.

Earlier in the day, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who is under sharp criticism from various quarters for not handing over the death case of IAS officer D.K. Ravi to the CBI, met Governor Vajubhai Rudabhai Vala and briefed him about the latest developments.

The 2009 batch IAS officer, who was deputed as the Joint Commissioner of the state's Commercial Taxes Department, was found mysteriously hanging by a fan in the bedroom of his private apartment in South Bengaluru's Tavarekere earlier on Monday.
