Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar on Tuesday affirmed that the doctors at the Army Research and Referral Hospital are leaving no stone unturned to ensure that the health condition of Lance Naik Hanamanthappa Koppad, who was miraculously found alive after remaining buried under huge mass of snow for six days at the Siachen Glacier, is stable.
"The doctors are trying their best to keep him stable but the next forty-eight hours are critical to assess. Doctors are helping, my prayers are there for him as he needs prayers," Parrikar told the media here.
"Whatever is available is being provided, I have told the doctors no effort should be left out," he added.
When asked as to what arrangement the government was making for the brave soldier, Parrikar said: "We have got his cousin from Meerut here and the rest of the family members are being brought."
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Army Chief General Dalbir Singh met the brave heart at the hospital.
Late last night, a rescue team that had been chipping away at ice for days, found him and was astonished to feel a faint pulse.
