Maharashtra Governor C Vidyasagar Rao has asked the state education department to consider screening short films and documentaries in schools and colleges.
While addressing the closing ceremony of 14th Mumbai International Film Festival (MIFF) here on Wednesday night, Rao asserted that documentaries with a social message can transform the society.
He has also asked the Films Division to conduct Film Appreciation courses at university level. The Governor further suggested a fixed timeslot on the national broadcaster Doordarshan for screening the best of short films and documentaries from across the world.
