American woman tennis legend Billie Jean King is reportedly the subject of a new documentary, which is based on King's iconic 1973 mixed-sex match against male US player Bobby Riggs.

According to the New York Post, King attended a London premiere for 'The Battle of the Sexes' along with group of women's tennis pioneers including 12-time Grand Slam champ Rosie Casals, Australian legends Judy Dalton and Evonne Goolagong, World Team Tennis commissioner and King's partner Ilana Kloss.

The group also included former pro Betty Stove and French player Francoise Durr, the report added.

According to a source, King introduced the film, to a standing ovation from the crowd, which also included Oscar winner Danny Boyle and director Simon Curtis, and thanked the 'players' in the audience, who helped her campaign for equal pay for women in the sport.

In her speech, King had said that she cannot be more happier or prouder of the current batch of women players today.

King, who will be the subject of another upcoming documentary featuring Elton John, Chris Evert, Venus Williams and Gloria Steinem, will celebrate her 70th birthday this fall with a bash in Las Vegas, the report added.
