Janata Dal (United) (JD-U) leader Sharad Yadav on Monday expressed his disappointment over the prevailing situation in Bihar and said he doesn't agree with the decision of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to break the grand alliance with Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Congress and join hands with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

"The current situation in Bihar is very disappointing for me. The mandate by the people of Bihar was not for this. I don't agree with the decision taken in Bihar. It's unfortunate," Yadav said.

Earlier on Thursday, JD (U) senior leaders asserted they had no idea about the decision being taken by Nitish Kumar.

"We are not being rebellious, by meeting Sharad Yadav. The entire episode took place so suddenly. We, including Sharad Yadav, had no idea that such a big development would happen overnight. It is surprising," JD(U) leader Ali Anwar after meeting Sharad Yadav said.

Anwar said that they met Sharad Yadav and the latter has assured that the matter will be discussed with other leaders of the state and then the decision will be taken on the same.

Echoing similar sentiment, another JD (U) leader Arun Kumar said everybody in the party is concerned over the decision taken by the Bihar Chief Minister, including Sharad Yadav.

"We met Sharad Yadav today who is founder member of the JD(U) and raised concern over the decision of Nitish Kumar. He took this decision without discussing it with any senior leader of the party. Even Sharad Yadav is worried about this," Kumar said.

Kumar said that raising the issue or expressing one's concern is not being rebellious; it is just that it is important to maintain the democracy of the party.

Bihar saw a major midnight political drama soon after Nitish Kumar resigned on Wednesday as Bihar Chief Minister to protest against his deputy and RJD Supremo Lalu Yadav's son Tejashwi Yadav's stubbornness to stay in the Cabinet despite being named in an F.I.R. over the corruption charges.
