With the Tamil Nadu Assembly passing the Jallikattu Bill as protests in Chennai turn violent, Art of Living founder and spiritual guru Sri Sri Ravi Shankar on Monday appealed to the people of the state no to let this movement slip into the hands of anti-social element and end the agitation with celebration.
The spiritual guru told ANI that people must be very careful of such elements attempting to take a ride on such euphoric situation.
"Jallikattu Bill has been passed and we should end this with celebration. I appeal to the people of Tamil Nadu to now wake up and do not let this movement slip into the hands of anti-national elements. There are such people, who just want to ride on the euphoric situation. Right now, the emotions are running very high and we have to be very careful," he said.
He also appealed to the state police to go soft and slow on the crackdown.
Amid protest over the bull-taming sport, the Tamil Nadu assembly earlier in the day unanimously passed the Jallikattu Bill.
The Bill was earlier was tabled in the assembly for approval.

Tamil Nadu Governor Vidyasagar Rao earlier on Saturday approved the ordinance issued by the state government revoking ban on Jallikattu.
Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam informed Prime Minister Narendra Modi about the ordinance promulgated by the state government and said Jallikattu is to be conducted with customary fervor with all necessary safeguards.
From the past one week, Chennai's Marina Beach has been thronged by massive crowds demanding to lift the ban on the traditional sport.
