Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar on Wednesday called for an effective interaction between Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and armed forces to meet the requirement of weapons made from the latest technology on battlefields.
Addressing the 39th DRDO director's conference here, Parrikar said, "I would request the DRDO to develop technology which is required by the armed forces. Concentrate on core activities which need priority. It is also important that DRDO interacts with the armed forces."
"DRDO interacts with navy, and I am pleased to say interaction seems to be quite matured. But interaction with other two is also necessary, because many times technologies are developed which may not be useful on the actual battle field. Therefore, this interaction is very much important," Parrikar added.
