Disgraced cycling star Lance Armstrong has claimed that it is 'impossible' to win the Tour de France without using any drugs.
According to the Mirror, the comments of Armstrong, who had been stripped of all seven Tour de France titles after his doping confession, have outraged cycling officials of the sport he fleeced as a serial drugs cheat.
Speaking on the eve of the landmark 100th Tour, Armstrong said that it is not possible to win the Tour without doping, and added that he did not invent doping.
Armstrong further said that doping did not stop with him, despite the harsh punishments he endured.
However, Armstrong later tried to backtrack from his comment, tweeting that his remarks applied to his wins from 1999-2005, and said that although he has no idea if the current batch of Tour de France winners are clean or not, he hoped that it is possible.
