South Africa Twenty20 captain Faf du Plessis has said that nobody's place is certain in the team for the ICC World T20 given the Proteas recent thrashing by Australia in the three-match T20 series.

South Africa lost the final match to Australia in the three-match T20 series by six wickets with five overs to spare, losing the series 2-0 to the visitors as the first match got 'rain washed', the report added.

According to Sport24, Du Plessis said that having his teammates in form would be really important if the team is going to do well in the T20 World Cup and if the players are not on 'top of their game' the Proteas would definitely look at 'other options' and 'nobody is a certainty'.

Du Plessis also said that their bowlers made a lot of mistakes in the final game, as both Dale Steyn and Morne Morkel, who did not play in the T20 series against Australia, were filled in by the likes of Lonwabo Tsotsobe, Wayne Parnell and Beuran Hendricks.

Du Plessis said that he wanted the bowlers, who were unable to replicate their domestic form against what the skipper described as 'a powerhouse batting line-up', to bowl as 'straight as possible' but there was too much 'square-of the-wicket' strokeplay, the report added.

However, the batsman said that Steyn and Morkel's comeback would be a huge bonus to the South African team in the World T20 that starts in Bangladesh.

The skipper also agreed that South Africa's batting and fielding were not up to 'scratch' in the final T20 of the series adding that the team made a lot of mistakes with the bat and they did not lay a 'good base' for their big hitters David Miller and Albie Morkel, the report added.
