The Delhi University, which has been severely criticized for the delay in admissions, has proposed that the Honours courses in DU can be reverted back to the three year format while the B.Tech course can continue to be a four year one.

Delhi University's media coordinator Malay Neerav today said in a press conference that the varsity has sent a proposal to the University Grants Commission (UGC) regarding the same and a response was awaited from the UGC.

UGC Chairman Ved Prakash, who today met Union HRD Minister Smriti Irani, refused to take questions over the ongoing controversy.

Students, however, continue to suffer as admissions into the University continue to be at a halt for the third consecutive day.

The first cut-off list for admissions was supposed to come out on Tuesday but was deferred following the UGC's directive to the University to dispense with the Four Year Undergraduate Programme.
