The PG-13 comedy 'Dumb and Dumber To' has surpassed Disney's animated 'Big Hero 6' with a whopping 38.1 million dollar debut earning at the weekend box office.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels starrer film, which came 20 years after the original, follows the dim-witted friends as they search for Lloyd's daughter in hopes that she can give him a kidney, while Rob Riggle, Laurie Holden, Rachel Melvin and Kathleen Turner also star in the movie.
'Big Hero 6' fell 36 percent to 36 million dollars from 3,773 locations for a domestic total of 111.7 million dollars and early worldwide haul of 148.4 million dollars.
'Interstellar' came in No. 3, declining a slim 39 percent to 29.2 million dollars from 3,561 theaters for a domestic total of 97.8 million dollars (all eyes were on the movie to see how much it would fall).
