A new study has revealed that people who wake up early in the morning are more likely to behave immorally and cheat in the night.

The research team found that early-rising 'larks' were more honest in the morning, while night 'owls' were more honest in the evening, the Metro reported.

Psychologists taking part in 'The Morality of Larks and Owls' study found that when people are likely to be unethical depends on the time of day and their natural energy rhythms at that time.

Sunita Sah, research fellow at Harvard University in the US, said the findings had implications for workplaces relying on ethical decisions and honesty, especially in fields of work with shift patterns.

The findings have now shed doubts on the stereotype that evening people are somehow dissolute.
