The Election Commission on Wednesday ruled out the possibility of faulty Electronic Voting Machines as claimed by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal's saying that they are 'latest and tamper-proof'.
"We had a good meeting with the Election Commission. We told our concerns to them regarding the EVM and they cleared our doubts. They said that there could be technical problems but they are doing their work. There is no tampering going on," said Kejriwal after the meeting.
"If people have doubts they will take the appropriate action," he added.
"We suspect EVM tampering. Tried to meet CEC yesterday. He was busy. Hope we will be able to meet him today. We urge CEC to allow us to put a banner outside each booth educating voters abt EVMs," the AAP leader tweeted earlier in the day.
Earlier on Tuesday, AAP had alleged that the EVMs are being tampered with ahead of the assembly elections in the national capital.
The elections for the 70-member Delhi Assembly will be held in a single phase on February 7. The counting of votes will take place on February 10. The last day of campaigning is February 5.
