The Election Commission on Wednesday sent notices to 27 Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs for allegedly holding offices of profit.
Earlier in October, President Pranab Mukherjee advised the Election Commission to investigate a complaint that 27 AAP MLAs were holding offices of profit.
As per reports, in June, a law student had written to the Election Commission, alleging that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had named 27 MLAs as chair of Delhi's Rogi Kalyan Samiti to monitor the working of various state-run hospitals.
In September, the Election Commission had forwarded Anand's letter to the President, who then advised the poll panel to probe the allegations.
