Formula One supremo Bernie Ecclestone has revealed that the motor-racing sport is likely to be sold off before the start of the 2016 race season.

The 85-year-old, who runs F1 management, said that current owners CVC would make up their mind in the next few months on whether they are selling the sport, Sport24 reported.

Ecclestone also said that there were only four people who could buy the controlling interest in F1.

Among those reportedly interested are the Miami Dolphins' Stephen Ross, Qatar's sports investment arm, Sky and international telcom Liberty, and the billionaire father of new Williams tester Lance Stroll.
