Formula One supremo Bernie Ecclestone has said that they really need to address costs in the sport because a lot of teams are having difficulty to keep up, while he also revealed a host of other problems that need to be resolved.
Ecclestone has complained that Formula One was too democratic and continued his campaign against its turbo hybrid engines. He said that they have got past sticking plasters and they need an operation, adding that they need to really seriously address costs because there are a lot of teams having difficulty trying to keep up.
Ecclestone revealed that he tried to rescue the German Grand Prix but couldn't come to a deal, adding that the engine manufacturers did not want the current engines, and that he would step down if his presence as boss was preventing Audi from entering the sport, the BBC reported.
Ecclestone also cast his doubts on the future of the Italian Grand Prix, rejected suggestions that human rights concerns should raise questions about the planned inaugural race in Azerbaijan next year and also said that engines had to be affordable for all teams, whatever design was decided upon for 2017.
