Egypt's interim president has reportedly said that centre-left business lawyer Ziad Bahaa Eldin is likely to be appointed as Egypt's new prime minister.
According to Fox News, Adli Mansour had considered Nobel Laureate Mohamed ElBaradei as vice president as Islamists objected to an initial proposal to appoint ElBaradei as prime minister.
Mansour's media advisor Ahmed al-Muslimani said that the president is considering potential prime ministerial candidates in Bahaa Eldin and ElBaradei and the decision will be announced on Monday.
The Salafis said that ElBaradei who is considered as an ardent secularist and top opponent to Islamist Morsi, would have been a divisive premier.
The report said that Bahaa Eldin who has a long and distinguished career as a business lawyer would be handed the task of bringing a semblance of unity to the new Egypt four days after the military ousted Morsi.
Bahaa Eldin entered politics in 2011 after the 2011 Arab Spring-inspired revolution that ousted longtime autocratic president Hosni Mubarak, the report added.
