An Egyptian court has upheld a government ban on the Muslim Brotherhood.

The move from the Urgent Cases has sent yet one more message that the party that staged the mass protests against the military for ousting Mohammed Morsi from the presidency was not welcome.

According to the Washington Times, a court already ruled in September that the Brotherhood could even be outlawed, as the government ordered.

An attorney of the leftist Tagammu political party brought an appeal, arguing that the residents of Egypt needed protection against government attack.

Despite the ban, the Muslim Brotherhood has vowed to continue the fight.
