Eid celebration in various parts of world

Eid-Ul-Fitr was celebrated across the world on Sunday and Monday.

The Muslims living in Mosul city of Iraq celebrated their first Eid without militant Islamic State group.

Arab, Asia and parts of Europe observed Eid. Children played with toy guns and rifles, which were among the only toys allowed during the days of IS.

The Dawn reports, president of United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al- Nahyan, made public appearance on Sunday after long time since 2014.

The Syrian state media said Syrian President Bashar-al-Assad, for the first time visited Hama city after 2011 when the protest erupted against him.

Meanwhile in the Philippines, fight between government forces and Islamist militants in Marawi lashed out on Sunday as the IS announced an armistice to observe Eid.

In Jakarta, residents said they hoped the spirit of Eid would overcome fears about rising militancy in the country with the largest number of Muslims, reports The Dawn.

Eid was celebrated in parts of Russia and Kyrgyzstan as well.
