Eid preparations are on in full swing in the Valley which is resulting in a huge rush of shoppers everywhere in the markets of Srinagar. Eid will be celebrated in the country tomorrow.
A huge rush of shoppers could be seen today in the markets of Kashmir Valley as the residents here have started preparing for the Eid-ul-Fitr that will be celebrated on Friday or Saturday all over the world depend upon the crescent (moon).
A customer Peroz Ahmad told ANI, "You can see the celebrations around eid here. There is a huge traffic jam. Srinagar is just bustling with activity. It is a big day for all of us. We just shopped for our kids here, so we are very happy."
Marking the end of the holy month of Ramazan, people were seen buying clothes and food items including mutton, chicken, bakery, confectionery, sweets, vegetables and toys for children.
Markets in the Lal chowk and other civil lines areas were full of shoppers who were purchasing eid items on a large scale which led to shopkeepers doing very good business.
A shopkeeper Bashir Ahmad told ANI, "The food items, including bakery and chicken items, are selling here very nicely but readymade garments and shoes etc are not selling too much."
Special stalls showcasing bangles, henna, bakery and jewelry were set up at many shopping centers. There were also stalls selling variety of ready-made garments, shoes, house hold items with latest designs of crockery and cosmetics.
