Comedian Ellen DeGeneres is to return as the host of the Academy Awards in 2014, for the second time.
The 55-year-old star announced the news herself on Twitter and posted that she was excited to host the mega event.
Oscar's producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron said in a statement that the daytime talk show host was the perfect choice as there are few stars today with DeGeneres' gift for comedy, her great warmth and humanity, the BBC reported.
President of the Academy Awards, Cheryl Boone Isaacs, insisted that DeGeneres is the ideal host for 2014's show.
A TV audience of 39.9 million watched the 79th Academy Awards, which was hosted by DeGeneres in 2007.
She had also received an Emmy nomination for the same.
