A survivor of Elphinstone station stampede on Wednesday recounted a heroic act of victim.
Twenty three people were killed and 31 were injured after the horrific stampede took place in Mumbai's Elphinstone station on Friday last week.
While several people toppled over each other on a 77-inch-narrow bridge, Shilpa Vishvakarma was lucky enough to survive the incident with the help of an another victim, who, unfortunately, died while performing this laudable act.
"I was pulled out by one Tilakram Teli who then himself fell and died when others fell on him," Shilpa Vishvakarma told ANI.
Earlier on Wednesday, Mumbai residents Faisal Yusuf Banaraswala and Abdul Rehman Qureshi on Tuesday filed a petition in the Bombay High Court seeking a National Investigation Agency (NIA) investigation into the stampede at Elphistone Station.
