Elton John has signed a 7 million dollars partnership with his foundation and US government agencies for a new AIDS program.
The 67-year-old British singer and activist had met with the US Secretary of State, John Kerry, at the State Department, where they announced the joint project called Health4Men to help provide HIV services for gays and transgender people in Africa, China Daily reported.
John said that the program, which would also involve PEPFAR, the US President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief, and the US Agency for International Development (USAID), was "a dream come true," as everyone should be able to live in an AIDS-free world.
Kerry expressed his gratitude to John, who's one of the most popular gay celebrities, for his leadership and praised his foundation for "bringing hope and help to a lot of people.
