Emma Thompson has revealed that she thinks female humor, reflecting her "orgasmic nature," is "more circular," with little laughs here and there and sometimes a big laugh, when compared to male comedy.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the 55-year-old actress thinks that men's jokes are essentially something that goes on and on, leading to an "ejaculation" and so they need a punch line to "react and laugh at the end."
The 'Sense and Sensibility' star, who considers Venus/Mars thing "awful" because brains of men and women are essentially the same, added that "being funny is about being confident" and she was shocked to know that some people felt women couldn't be funny. hile Thompson was working at famous Cambridge University drama club, The Footlights, with Hugh Laurie, Stephen Fry and other famous names, she auditioned partly because she liked their work and wanted to help add women as the group was male-dominated at the time.
Thompson, who considers Clint Eastwood as a "great hero" and still identifies with him, continued that focusing on honor is often not thought of as a female quality, which "drives her mad," as honor is thought of as a very masculine thing.
