Emma Watson will now play United Nation's Goodwill Ambassador for Women.
The 24-year-old 'Harry Potter', who's news about her new role crashed the organization's, took to Twitter and shared that she was to work for the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women and was really excited to start work with the "amazing" people, the Hollywood Reporter reported.
The British actress, who's a English literature graduate from Brown University in US, and had previously promoted education for young women during her International visits, said that she was "deeply rooted to women rights," and wanted to use this opportunity to make a difference.
Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka, UN Women Executive Director said that they were thrilled to have Watson, and believe that her intelligence and passion would really help making their messages reach the hearts and minds of young people all over the world.
