An 'emotionally and physically drained' Mo Farah has pulled out of the Diamond League meeting in Birmingham amidst doping claims against his coach.
The double Olympic and world champion said that this week has been very stressful and taken a lot out of him, adding that he has not been able to focus properly on today's race as he feels 'emotionally and physically drained' after all these accusations, the BBC reported.
Farah had yesterday said that he was 'angry' at his name being 'dragged through the mud'.
The British athlete, who was scheduled to run in the 1500m in Birmingham, further said that he wants to run well in the World Championships in Beijing in August and, therefore, has decided to go back to the US, seek answers to his questions and get back into training.
Although American coach Alberto Salazar has denied these allegations, Farah insisted that he wanted further assurances 'as soon as possible'.
A BBC investigation alleged that Salazar, who was hired as Farah's coach in 2011, doped United States 10,000m record holder Galen Rupp in 2002 when the athlete was 16 years old.
