England has reportedly named their Test team for their upcoming clash against Sri Lanka at Lord's on June 12 and has included uncapped trio Chris Jordan, Sam Robson and Moeen Ali in the squad.
Country club Sussex paceman Jordan, took 12 wickets in the ODI series with Sri Lanka, while Ali played in three ODIs in the West Indies last winter and opening batsman Robson, averages 51 for Middlesex this season.
According to the BBC, the selectors have also included wicketkeeper Matt Prior, bowler Liam Plunkett, who returns after a seven-year Test absence.
National selector James Whitaker said that it is very exciting for Plunkett, who has enjoyed resurgence with domestic club Yorkshire, adding that the bowler has shown all the hallmarks of a spearhead paceman, bowling some really quick spells with the quickest being at Lord's.
Meanwhile, Durham all-rounder Ben Stokes has not been named as the part of the squad, with Whitaker saying that the player is very much part of England's future and that they would like to see a few more overs under his belt, but he would be back soon.
Others who have not made it to the squad include opening batsman Michael Carberry, wicketkeeper Jonny Bairstow, leg-spinner Scott Borthwick, paceman Boyd Rankin and Sussex keeper Prior, who England is hoping would rediscover his best form after being dropped during the Ashes series following a run of poor form with the bat and has recently returned from an Achilles tendon injury, the report added.
