The English bowling attack will be focusing more on swing in the Tests against New Zealand starting at Lord's on Thursday, according to England's bowlers.
Although it will be a case of familiarity having bred respect when England face New Zealand in the first of a two-Test series after the drawn series early this year, the raised seam of the English Duke ball provides an additional challenge for New Zealand batsmen used to flatter balls elsewhere in the world, News.com.au reports.
The report further said that New Zealand left-arm bowlers Trent Boult and Neil Wagner proved a handful for England's batsmen in the drawn Tests for which English captain Alastair Cook will look to his side to respond in kind.
According to England seam-bowling all-rounder Stuart Broad, it is necessary for them to swing the ball which they did not achieve in the previous Test series regardless of what New Zealand did as a bowling unit, adding that he is confident that they can bowl better then the Black Caps.
Broad further said that discipline is another key to winning the Tests, adding that his side was not disciplined enough to do it consistently in the previous Tests.
