The English cricketers' representative body has offered to help disgraced England spinner Monty Panesar following his dumping from the fourth Ashes Test at Durham due to his 'drunken urinating' antics.

According to the Mirror, Panesar had relieved himself over nightclub bouncers, having been ejected from a Brighton venue in the early hours of Monday morning, following a complaint from a group of women that he had been harassing them.

Aware of the bowler's drink-related problems, the Professional Cricketers' Association (PCA) is keen to offer him help when possible given that his county club Sussex may also be forced to let him go despite two years still left on Panesar's contract at the club.

With the latest episode showing how difficult Panesar may be finding life away from his network of friends and family, PCA chief Angus Porter said that the body will provide support and help to all players in need of it, whatever the situation, adding that Panesar is no different.

Porter further said that he believes that the incident is one where Panesar recognises that he has made a mistake and has thus apologised, adding that the body will support players who need advice and help with issues like alcohol or gambling or anything else.
