Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Tariq Anwar on Tuesday said that the people will also question Prime Minister Narendra Modi about his 15 months rule at the Centre, after the latter had asked for accountability from leaders who had ruled Bihar for 25 years at his rally in Bhagalpur.
"PM Modi has asked from the leaders of Bihar (Nitish and Lalu) to give an account of the 'work' done in state over the last 25 years, but, he forgot that in the 25 years, even he was a part of it for eight-and-an-half years. So, the people of Bihar will also ask him for his accountability in the last eight-and-half years as well as about his 15 months government at the Centre, Anwar told ANI here."
"I want to make one thing very clear. Whether it is Prime Minister Modi or Nitish Kumar, just by talking about big figures (packages), does not fill the stomach of the poor. And, as long as development is not visible, the people will not believe them," he added.
With reference to Modi calling the Sunday's Swabhiman Rally at Patna's Gandhi Maidan 'Tilanjali', he said, "Even I did not like the fact that Congress President Sonia Gandhi did not get enough respect at the Swabhiman Rally. She spoke first and was followed by Nitish and Lalu. It only showed that they were giving more importance to casteism."
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday demanded that the united opposition of Janata Pariwar should give an account of its 'work' done in Bihar over the last 25 years.
"Those who have ruled the state for 25 years, they must give an account of the work done by them but they are questioning me," said Modi.
