Ewan McGregor has agreed to star in a film based on Philip Roth's Pulitzer Prize-winning novel 'American Pastoral'.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the film, which has an adapted screenplay written by John Romano, will be directed by Phillip Noyce and is scheduled to start filming in March 2015, in Pittsburgh.
Lakeshore CEO Rosenberg said in a statement that McGregor, who was recently seen in 'The Impossible and Beginners', is the perfect actor to take on the powerful and complex character of the Swede.
The project is Lakeshore Entertainment's third Roth adaptation and is being produced by Tom Rosenberg and Gary Lucchesi.
