Former Force India driver Paul di Resta, who has left Formula One and rejoined Mercedes in the German Touring Car Championship, has reportedly settled his legal battle with his former manager, who is also the father of racing ace Lewis Hamilton, out of court.
Di Resta sacked Anthony Hamilton in 2012 after a sponsorship dispute and in response, Hamilton sued the Force India driver for breach of contract.
According to the BBC, the spat between the driver and his manager became public when Hamilton took Di Resta to court for breach of contract and loss of earnings, although the case has now been resolved.
However, Hamilton, who also managed his Mercedes driver son, expressed regret over the bitter end to the relationship with Di Resta, saying that he is pleased to put this matter to bed and wished his former employer the best for the future.
Stating that Di Resta is a very talented driver, Hamilton said that it is a shame that he does not have the F1 seat in 2014 that he deserves.
The Scot won the DTM championship for Mercedes in 2010 and will partner Englishman Gary Paffett - the winner in 2005 - this season, the report added.
