Former Pakistani spinner Saqlain Mushtaq has said that the retirement of Indian batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar from Tests will be a 'big loss' to world cricket.

Tendulkar will bid adieu to the game after playing his 200th Test against the West Indies in Mumbai in November.

According to the Daily Times, Mushtaq hailed Tendulkar as a 'great human being' and 'amazing player', saying that it was an honour playing against Tendulkar and that he enjoyed bowling to the legendary batsman.

The report mentioned that Mushtaq, who is famous for inventing the 'doosra', had been training the West Indies slow bowlers on the art of bowling the delivery at a special camp in Barbados ahead of their tour to India, although he will not be travelling with the Caribbean team to India as he will take up the job of spin coach with Bangladesh.

Stating that India is a very tough team at home, Mushtaq further said that the West Indies bowlers would need to be mentally and physically fit and know their game very well as it would be an emotional series for India, adding that the bowlers must be confident to beat a player of Tendulkar's stature.
