A former US Navy SEAL who claims to have shot Osama bin Laden is reportedly facing probe on suspicion of revealing classified information about the Abbottabad raid.
According to ABC News, Robert O'Neill made an appearance on Fox News Channel in November to discuss his role in the raid that killed bin Laden on May 1, 2011 in Abbottabad, Pakistan.
NCIS Public Affairs Officer Ed Buice said in a statement that the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) has received information that O'Neill may have revealed classified information to persons not unauthorized to receive such information.
He added that the NCIS had initiated an investigation to determine the merit of the allegations.
