Formula One test driver Maria de Villota was found dead in a Spanish hotel room after losing her eye in a crash last year.
According to the Mirror, Villota could have died following a seizure provoked by the head injury she suffered after a horrific crash last year, a top medic said.
Consultant neurosurgeon Stuart Ross said that the Spaniard's freak accident in July last year may have left her with epilepsy, which could have led to her death in a hotel room this morning.
McLaren team principal Martin Whitmarsh, and chairman of the Formula One Teams' Association, said Maria de Villota was an inspiration.
